At a petroleum refinery, crude oil is received from large ocean going tankers, usually a very large crude carrier, short for VLCC, at on shore or off shore berth . After processing the crude oil and producing various oil products, smaller coaster ships and petrol tankers distribute those finish products across the country and to other countries.
